Sweet peas

Last summer, I sowed some sweet peas and planted them in two big pots. They didn’t get big enough to flower last year, but they survived the winter outdoors, and in the spring they continued to mature into the biggest and sturdiest sweet pea plants I have ever grown. By mid-May, they had reached the top of the gazebo frame and soon started flowering. Meanwhile, my October-sown sweet peas, while flowering, are currently less than half the size. I’ll definitely be doing another (bigger) summer sowing of sweet peas this year!
